Pricing
Free to check. Paid to fix.
Checking a PDF is commoditised — three good free tools already do it, and so does ours, without limits. What costs money is the eight minutes of repair that would otherwise be forty.

The Solo plan's remediation report, on a real document:read a sample (PDF, 5 pages) — a LibreOffice export with Hebrew and Arabic passages. Seven of its eight findings repaired, every human decision logged, and the eighth, the PDF/UA identifier, held back until a person confirms the conditions Taggart does not check.
Prices in USD, excluding tax, in every country. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card details.
What you are actually choosing between
The comparison that matters is not against other software. It is against paying somebody to do it by hand.
| Option | Cost | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Remediation service | USD 4–25 per page, USD 250 minimum | Somebody else's time. Fine for a one-off backlog, ruinous as a standing cost. |
| Accessibility audit | USD 1,250–5,000 | A report telling you what is wrong. No fixes. |
| axesPDF | USD 650 / year | The most mature PDF/UA tooling there is. Windows only, no right-to-left. |
| PDFix Desktop Pro | EUR 350 / year | Cross-platform, strong automation. No right-to-left repair. |
| Adobe Acrobat Pro | From USD 239.88 / year | You already have it. Its Reading Order tool is why you are on this page. |
| Taggart Solo | USD 290 / year | Reading-order editor, right-to-left repair, remediation report, appearance guarantee. |
| Taggart Validator | Free | Unlimited checking, right-to-left analysis and the screen-reader preview. |
Competitor prices are as published by each vendor and were last checked on 8 September 2026. Service and audit ranges are from published rate cards, including Accessible.org's listed USD 4.00/page for PDFs.
One report from a service costs more than a year of Taggart
At the low end of the market rate — USD 4 a page — a single 80-page report costs USD 320 to have remediated. That is more than a year of Taggart Solo, for one document.
This is not an argument that software replaces the specialist. It does not, and every vendor charging per page is charging for judgement that cannot be automated. It is an argument that the specialist should not be spending forty minutes per document fighting a reading-order panel.
Frequently asked questions
Why is checking free when every other paid tool charges for it?
Because checking is solved and commoditised. PAC is free, veraPDF is free, PDFix Desktop Lite is free and permanently so. Charging for a validator would mean competing on price with three good free tools, and losing. Fixing is the hard part, and it is what a plan pays for.
Is there a one-time licence?
No, deliberately. A one-time licence at a price this audience would find credible signals a toy, and the alternative you are weighing is USD 4–25 per page of human labour. A subscription also funds the thing that actually matters here: keeping the rule set current as PDF/UA-2 lands and the ADA deadlines arrive.
What happens when I cancel?
Remediation stops at the end of the period you paid for. Validation keeps working, unlimited, forever — it is free for everyone. Every file you already produced is yours, unencumbered: Taggart writes ordinary PDFs with no licence check, no phone-home and no expiry.
Do you offer a discount for non-profits, education or the public sector?
Yes. The organisations under the hardest deadlines are frequently the ones with the least budget, which is a bad way to allocate accessibility. Write to us with a sentence about the work and we will sort something out.
How does Israeli pricing work?
Support in Hebrew, and a product where Hebrew is a first-class locale rather than a translation layer — the interface, the findings, the reports and the right-to-left engine are all built for it. Billing is in US dollars everywhere, including Israel; your bank converts at its own rate.
Can I try the paid features before committing?
Run the free validator on your real documents first — that tells you how much work you actually have, which is the number that decides whether a tool is worth it. If it says you have a reading-order problem across 200 files, the answer is probably yes. If it says your documents are fine, we would rather you kept your money.
Check first, decide after. Run your real documents through the free validator. If it finds nothing, you do not need a plan and we will not pretend otherwise.
